Il prend \u00e0 son service une femme de m\u00e9nage, S\u00e9raphine, 48 ans. Quelque temps plus tard, il remarque chez des notables locaux une petite toile peinte sur bois. Sa stup\u00e9faction est grande d&rsquo;apprendre que l&rsquo;auteur n&rsquo;est autre que S\u00e9raphine.
